Allgon is looking for an experienced R&D Manager to lead and develop our hardware and mechanical engineering team and drive innovation within our organization.
Allgon is a leading manufacturer of wireless machinery control systems, delivering customized solutions to companies across the industrial sector. About the Role
As Manager R&D Hardware, you will lead and develop a team of hardware and mechanical engineers located in Gothenburg and Björbo. This is a leadership position requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on technical engagement, where you will support the team in problem-solving, planning and quality-focused development work. You will be responsible for team leadership, resource planning, competence development and continuous improvement, ensuring that the right processes, tools and capabilities are in place to support the development of Allgon’s products.
This position can be based in either Gothenburg or Björbo and reports directly to the Chief Technology & Product Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, lead and develop the R&D Hardware team, fostering collaboration innovation, and continuous improvement.
Plan and allocate team resources to support development projects, research initiatives, and ongoing product maintenance.
Participate in and lead development projects, including estimation work, pre-studies and technology research.
Manage unplanned and acute product maintenance in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Drive process improvements, competence development, and adoption of new tools.
Participate in design reviews and ensure adherence to Allgon's standards and processes for quality assurance and compliance.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident and collaborative leader with a strong technical foundation in hardware development. You enjoy developing people, building high-performing teams and creating structure in a dynamic engineering environment. You are comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on involvement, have strong communication skills and the ability to drive progress, quality and continuous improvement together with others.
Key qualifications include:
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 10 years of experience in electronics and hardware product development, preferably for embedded or industrial applications.
Minimum 3 years of people management experience in an R&D environment, leading hardware, electronics and/or mechanical engineering teams.
Strong understanding of hardware design processes and product development lifecycle.
Proven ability to manage and optimize development tools, processes, and workflows in an agile R&D setting.
Project management experience is a plus.
Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
